Large rhombohedral crystals form penetration twins atop a bed of a thick plate of Dolomite with smaller, more typical saddle-shaped crystal formations below. Chalk white in color, this Dolomite specimen’s larger crystals from penetration twins which create dimensionality which stands out from the flat base they stand upon. A dull luster tops the specimen while crystals on the side give off a diamond-like appearance.
