Boulangerite with Calcite, Kosovo, Large Cabinet-Sized Specimen

CM049

Approx. Dimensions: 5.76 in x 4.97 in x 1.5 in

Approx. Weight: 896 grams

The fine crystals on top of this Calcite specimen may look like hair or fiber, but they are Boulangerite, an unusual mineral that forms as flexible, interlocking patterns which often grow on other minerals. The color is dark gray atop a cream-colored Calcite formation. A small, rounded cluster of white transparent Calcite crystals tops off one side of the specimen creating a luminous pattern of beauty that stands out from the dull, earthy luster of the other minerals.
